Privacy Policy

Short version. No account. No analytics. No ads. We never sell or share your data. Your location never leaves your phone. If you use a Lock Screen Live Activity, your phone sends us an anonymous token from Apple so we can keep it updated — that is the only thing we store about you, and it deletes itself.

What TrackWatch is

TrackWatch is an independent iPhone app from TurnCards LLC that shows the live status, location and track assignments of Amtrak trains. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Amtrak or the National Railroad Passenger Corporation.

What stays on your device

The trains you track, the stops you pick for alerts, and your saved stations. These are stored on your device and shared with the TrackWatch widget through a private app group. They are never sent to us.
Your location, if you allow it. It is used only on your device, to sort stations by distance. It is never transmitted anywhere.

What our server receives

TrackWatch gets its data from a backend service operated by TurnCards LLC rather than a third-party feed.

Train and station requests. When the app asks for train data, our server receives the request and your device’s IP address, as any internet service does. We do not keep request logs in normal operation. If a single address sends an unusual volume of requests, we record that address in an operational log so we can stop abuse.
Live Activity tokens (TrackWatch Plus). If you start a Lock Screen Live Activity, your phone sends us a push token that Apple issues for that one activity, together with the train number and run you are following. We use it for one purpose: to update that Live Activity as the train moves. It is stored for at most 8 hours, is deleted when the activity ends or when Apple tells us the token is no longer valid, and is tied to an activity rather than to you — it carries no name, email or account.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. To confirm what you have purchased — including recognising customers who bought TrackWatch before it became free — the app reads your App Store receipt on your device. That check happens on your phone; the receipt is not sent to us.

What we do not do

No accounts, sign-ins, names or email addresses.
No analytics, tracking SDKs, advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking.
No ads.
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone.

Children

TrackWatch is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
